Tricycle driver nabbed for illegal drugs

ILOILO – Around P20,400 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated from a tricycle driver in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion South, Oton town on Thursday night, Nov. 10.

Rundy Terante, 27, and a resident of the above-mentioned barangay, was arrested after an undercover policeman was able to buy from him a sachet of suspected shabu for P2,200.

According to Police Major Fernand Limbungan of the Oton Municipal Police Station (MPS), Terante was a street level drug suspect.

Joint elements of the Oton MPS, Provincial Mobile Force Company led by Police Major Joven Arevalo, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 carried out the arrest.

Also seized from the suspect were five more sachets of suspected shabu weighing around three grams.

Terante is now under the custody of the Oton police.

He faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
