ILOILO City – Two vehicles were damaged in a crash in Barangay Bagumbayan, City Proper, a police report showed.
The collision was between a tricycle driven by Roberto Yanson and a Ford Ranger pickup driven by Ernesto Amoyan.
None of the drivers was reported injured during the incident at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. The police report did not show any further information on the drivers.
Because of the crash, the tricycle was damaged on its sidecar.
The pickup, on the other hand, incurred damage on the left fender, left front door and left footboard.
Road crashes are common – and fatal – in the Philippines.
They have killed 10,379 people across the country in 2013 alone, according to the World Health Organization, while the Department of Public Works and Highways put the figure in the same year at only 1,513.
The Philippines have various laws on road safety, including those that provide for speed limits, installation of speed-limiting devices and the use of seatbelts, and penalize driving under the influence and distracted driving./PN
