PH drubs Cambodia 9-0 in Beijing U13 football

MANILA – The Negros Occidental Football Association-reinforced Philippine U13 footballers clobbered Cambodia 9-0 in the 2018 Soong Ching Ling Cup on Tuesday in Beijing, China.

Julio Antonio Yoldi, Kurt Sarip and Miel Dee Marcon fired two goals each while Anthony Joseph Galve, Jed Ariel Tan and Rafael Manuel Garcia added a conversion each for the Philippines.

Philippine assistant coach Noel de Oca lauded the all-around effort of their players against the tough Cambodians.

“We are happy with the performance of everyone,” de Oca said. “The substitutes were as good as those in the starting eight.”

Also in the Philippine team under head coach Ronald Treyes were Breidel Medina, Jared Alexander Peña, Lucas Sebastiano Andan, Elijah Zedric Ballesteros, Jan Emmanuelle Benedict Salceda, Earl John Singconiegue, Adrian Patrick Bacolod, Virgo Louis Herce, and Matthaeus Henricus Lim.

At the end of the Group A elimination round, the Philippines was on top with 7 points, followed by China (6 points), Indonesia (4 points) and the scoreless Cambodia (0 point)./PN
