ILOILO City – A 25-year-old tricycle driver was arrested yesterday. He tried to rape a call center agent in Barangay Airport, Mandurriao district on Oct. 7, police said.
The suspect, only identified as “Jepoy” of Barangay Boulevard, Molo district, was detained at the Mandurriao police station.
According to the victim’s grandmother, she left their house in Barangay South San Jose, Molo past 11 p.m. to report to work.
She reportedly rode on the suspect’s tricycle, but the driver halted and dragged her to a grassy area.
The victim shouted for help, catching the attention of security guards in a nearby subdivision.
The suspect fled leaving behind his tricycle but was arrested hours later./PN
