ILOILO City – A 36-year-old tricycle driver was arrested after being caught with 55 grams of suspected shabu worth around P374,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Jalandoni Estate, Lapuz district.
Alias “Lan”, a resident of Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro district, yielded a total of 10 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of the said illegal substance and non-drug-related items.
Officers of the Iloilo City Police Station 8 (ICPS8) carried out the operation at around 9:59 p.m. on Monday, October 13.
Authorities said the suspect had previously been arrested for the same offense but was released following a plea bargaining agreement.
The suspect is now under the custody of ICPS8, facing charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
