ILOILO — Two brothers tagged as the top two most wanted persons at the municipal level in Alimodian were arrested during separate manhunt operations in Barangay Poblacion on Wednesday, May 27.
Police identified the first suspect as alias “Mar,” 31, a farmer from Barangay Bagsakan, who was apprehended along Rodriguez Street. Mar is listed as Alimodian’s No. 1 fugitive.
Shortly after, the town’s No. 2 most wanted person, identified as Mar’s brother, alias “Ron,” 37, a farmer from Barangay Gines, was nabbed on Nichole Street.
The operations were conducted by the tracker team of the Alimodian Municipal Police Station, with support from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6.
The brothers were arrested by virtue of a warrant for frustrated homicide issued on May 26, 2026 by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 35 in Iloilo City. The court has recommended a bail bond of P72,000 each for their temporary liberty.
Both suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and detained at the Alimodian Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño, acting director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), lauded the operating units for the successful dual arrest.
“The arrest of Alimodian’s top 1 and top 2 most wanted persons reflects PRO-6’s firm resolve to account for wanted persons and ensure that warrants of arrest are served without delay,” Tuaño said. “Those who continue to evade the law will be pursued, arrested, and brought before the court to face the charges against them.”/PN
