ILOILO City – Two of the most wanted persons in Western Visayas, both charged with rape, were recently arrested in the cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

A pursuit against the region’s No. 6 most wanted person led to the arrest of alias “June” in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City at around 5:22 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10.

The suspect, a 35-year-old male and married resident of Barangay Banago in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, was served with arrest warrants issued by Hon. Karen Joy Tan Gaston, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) 6, Branch 43 in Bacolod City.

The warrant, which cited charges of rape involving four counts under criminal case numbers 23-58580 to 23-58583, stipulated no bail for “June’s” temporary liberty.

Yesterday, at approximately 8:50 a.m. in Barangay San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City, the region’s No. 9 most wanted person was also collared.

Suspect alias “Roy,” a 46-year-old male laborer, was served with a standing arrest warrant for rape under criminal case number 24-91162.

Hon. Elijo Sharon Ronzales Herrera-Bellones, Presiding Judge of RTC-6, Branch 27, in Iloilo City has set no bail for the temporary liberty of the accused.

“We will not allow these fugitives to roam around and give them the opportunity to prey on others. We are strong in our resolve to hold them accountable,” said Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6./PN
