BACOLOD City – Various groups in the province of Negros Occidental yesterday launched a movement aimed at supporting Vice President Leni Robredo in the upcoming 2022 presidential polls.

Dubbed the “Negros for Leni” movement, the groups are urging the Vice President to “take on the challenge and aim for the presidency.”

Former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela, co-convenor of the movement, said Robredo is “the most qualified to lead the country into the future.”

“We believe a President is ought to be, based on public service track record, exemplary in accomplishments, dedication and integrity,” Coscolluella stressed.

“[Robredo] will not only lead with competence, but inspire Filipinos in search of hope… empowerment, and will restore our faith in a government that nurtures and builds,” the former governor added.

The movement was joined by individuals from the sectors of labor, professional, youth, and disabled, among others./PN
