CAPIZ – A motorcycle accident claimed the life of the village chief of Barangay Cabugao Oeste, Panay here over the weekend.
The victim was identified as Punong Barangay Erwin Biñas.
Initial investigation showed that from their barangay, Biñas was driving his motorcycle together with his back rider Roel Bacelonia, 50 also of Barangay Cabugao Oeste, and was heading towards the city proper when the accident happened around 8 p.m. on April 3.
Biñas allegedly lost control when they reached the curb portion of the road in Barangay Banica which resulted in him and his rider falling off the motorcycle.
He got a fatal wound on his head while Bacelonia sustained minor injuries.
Biñas was declared dead on arrival when rushed to the hospital./PN
