BACOLOD City – Bacolod Tay Tung (BTT) High School Thunderbolts swept their foes to rule the 4th Mayor Alonso Volleyball Cup at the Pontevedra Municipal Gym, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
The Anthony Blasi-mentored Thunderbolts swept their four matches against Trinity Christian School, 40-38; Pontevedra, 40-29; Negros Occidental High School, 40-15; and Hinigaran, 40-15.
The Thunderbolts’ squad was led by Franchesca Ana Hermosura, Jothea Mae Pugal Ramos, Anthea Nishart Galicia, Amber Lily Biong and Maria Ysabelle Jalea.
Also in the BTT roster were Sandy Sta. Rita, Patricia Grace Hiponia, Charlene Tayapad, Erica Nacional and Jihan Isabelle Chuatico.
Bacolod Tay Tung team manager Jose Montalbo said that the participation of the developmental team in the one-day tournament was a huge boost ahead of the Batang Pinoy competition.
“Participating here, our (developmental team) have gained so much experience,” said Montalbo. “The experience playing here will be helpful as they prepare to represent Bacolod City in Batang Pinoy.”/PN
