BACOLOD City – A married couple was shot to death at a wharf in Barangay Molocaboc, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
According to the Sagay City police station, the attack happened as Ermelito Desamparado, 46, was fetching his wife Melani, a 44-year-old teacher, around 6:30 p.m. on June 17.
Witnesses told the police an unidentified person suddenly shot the couple several times.
Police said they have three persons of interest in their custody for investigation.
Ermelito had been very vocal of illegal activities in their village. Reports showed he had been receiving threats to his life. Police are now looking into this as possible motive in the killing./PN
