What was the motive in Pontevedra shooting?

BACOLOD City – Police have yet to determine the motive in a shooting incident involving a farmer in Barangay Antipolo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

The 57-year-old Pedro Pagran was stoned and shot, a police report showed.

He was riding his carabao around 7 a.m. on Wednesday when two unidentified suspects peppered him with bullets, the report added.

Pagran managed to jump off his carabao and ran toward the nearby sugarcane plantation but tripped.

The suspects continued firing at him. They even threw stones at the victim before fleeing.

Pagran was rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto District Hospital in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental and later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further medical treatment

Officers from the Pontevedra police station launched a manhunt against the suspects./PN
