Who stabbed 2 men in Passi?

ILOILO City – Investigators were still trying to identify the person who stabbed two men in the component city of Passi in Iloilo province.

One of the victims, 40-year-old Giovanni Pangantihon, died, a police report showed.

He and Arnel Prudente, 39, were attacked upon arriving at Christine’s Place Inland Resort and Hotel on Simeon Aguilar Street, Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Passi City late Sunday evening.

There was a commotion outside the resort when Pangantihon, resident of Barangay Asisig, San Enrique town, and Prudente of San Roque Street, Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Passi City alighted from a motorcycle at around 11 p.m., investigation showed.

Suddenly a person clad in a white jersey shirt and a pair of jeans approached and stabbed them, police said, citing witnesses.

Pangantihon and Prudente were taken to a hospital in Passi but the former was declared “dead on arrival,” stated the police report.

Prudente was referred to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district for further treatment.

The attacker fled after the incident, witnesses told the police. They remained at large as of this writing, police said./PN
