BACOLOD City – Complaining that she was mauled and threatened, a woman asked the police station of Cauayan, Negros Occidental to arrest her husband.
According to Jona Gallarde of Barangay Caliling, Cauayan, her 43-year-old husband Elberto was drunk, unruly, and could set off a homemade shotgun.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 2, Cauayan cops proceeded to the Gallarde house and managed to pacify Elberto. They confiscated the shotgun and brought the suspect to the police station.
According to the police, they would press charges against Elberto for illegal possession of firearm (violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)./PN
