WILCON Builders’ Foundation, Inc., the non-stock, non-profit organization, and socio-civic arm of Wilcon Depot and Wilcon Home Essentials, has committed to donate P3M for the rehabilitation of ABS-CBN’s child welfare and protection arm – ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Bantay Bata 163’s Children’s Village project.
The Children’s Village, which opened in May 2003 in Norzagaray, Bulacan, has served as shelter and home to an average of 120 abused and maltreated children in its cottages where they were nurtured under a loving and caring environment as an alternative child care where house parents provided day to day parental supervision to children in a structured, therapeutic, and family-like environment.
Consequently, Wilcon Builders’ Foundation, Inc. has obliged to donate a wide range of Wilcon’s top-grade quality products that would help rebuild a comfortable and sustainable life in the village, which the latter had once had.
Consequently, Filipino environmentalist and philanthropist Gina Lopez has lauded this move by Wilcon and has expressed her gratitude personally to Wilcon Depot’s President and CEO Lorraine Belo-Cincochan and Senior Executive Vice President and COO and Philippine Retailers’ Association (PRA) President Rosemarie Ong on her recent visit at the store’s head office.
