Woman yields P45-T ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu weighing about 3 grams was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation in Cabug Baybay, Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

The suspected illegal drugs valued at around P45,000 contained in 13 sachets were confiscated from the 44-year-old Caren Eva, a police report showed.

Eva – a resident of Barangay Guinhalaran – was caught after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,000 around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, the report added.

Personnel from Silay’s City Drug Enforcement Unit staged the sting operation.

Aside from the suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and a cellphone were recovered from Eva.

She was detained in the lockup cell of the Silay City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a “high-value” drug target was arrested in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental later that night.

The 33-year-old Percival Ytienza of Barangay 4, Kabankalan City was caught at around 10:10 p.m. on Jan. 29.

Eight sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P10,000 were confiscated from him.

Aside from the suspected drugs, a cellphone and P1,170 cash were also seized from Ytienza.

He was detained in the Kabankalan City police station lockup cell. He faces charges for violation of RA 9165./PN
