ILOILO City – A woman was found dead in her house on Q. Abeto Street, Mandurriao district.
Theresa Rupero was already in a state of decomposition, police said. The visiting Amalia Custodio found her sister dead around 10:15 a.m. on March 20.
Rupero was living alone in her house. She was last seen alive playing mahjong with friends on March 15, police said.
Custodio paid her sister a visit on Monday but couldn’t get inside the locked house. She had called her sister several times but the latter was not answering, so she asked the neighbors’ help to open the house’s door.
Rupero was lying dead on the floor when found.
According to Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso, city police director, investigators learned from Custodio that Rupero was suffering from tuberculosis.
There were no signs of forcible entry in Rupero’s house. Canieso believed she died of natural causes./PN
