ILOILO City – Police in Western Visayas are using a jingle to make its anticrime campaign unique and engaging.
The jingle urges the public to be vigilant against budol-budol gang, snatching, laglag-barya gang, and salisi gang, among others.
Five police officers 1 assigned at Police Regional Office 6 composed it, spokesperson Superintendent Gilbert Gorero said. “[This is] not copied.”
All police stations across the region already have a copy of the jingle.
Gorero said the lyrics can be easily understood, even by children.
“The jingle will be played repeatedly sa Dinagyang Festival, sa municipalities, sa mga tinda, sa may celebration, or sa fiesta, basta damo tawo, gina-play gid ini para i-remind ang public nga maghalong gid,” he said.
Following are the lyrics of the jingle:
Magreport, tumawag o magtext na
Sa aming mga linya
Maglakad, tumakbo , sumakay ka
Papuntang police station
Maging mapagmatyag sa paligid mo
Mga snatcher, nakaabang sayo
Pera sa daan wag basta yukuan
O damputin, baka may laglag-barya gang
Aside from jingle, the regional police are also distributing leaflets and stickers reminding the public to continuously fight illegal drugs./PN
