WV spikers drub Region 4-A in Nat’l PRISAA

MANILA – Western Visayas’ (WV) secondary girls volleyball team stayed unbeaten in the PRISAA 2018 National Games after a 25-17, 25-20 sweep over Region 4-A at the Holy Name University Covered Court in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Unlike in their first two victories, WV struggled to put away Region 4-A on Tuesday night before veterans Shane Carmona, Alyssa Bertolano, Kiesha Bedonia, and Marianne Sotomil took control of the game.

“We are not that happy with the result,” Assistant Coach Biboy Calamba told Panay News. “Our players committed a number of avoidable errors. We have prepare harder of our next matches.”

On the other hand, the WV secondary girls beach volleyball of Nohlin Jundana, Marixi Maligmat and Joan Doguna reached the quarterfinals round after splitting their two matches at the VDT Advanced Learning Center Campus.

The WV tertiary women’s volleyball team cruised to victories over Region 2 (25-12, 25-10, 25-16) and Region 3 (25-10, 25-18, 25-18) at the Bicol Institute of Technology gym.

In women’s softball at the HNU, the WV squad represented by Central Philippine University scored two lopsided victories over Region 7 (19-0) and Region 2 (12-0).

In tertiary basketball at the HNU Covered Court, WV represented by Hercor College first scored a 111-65 victory over Bicol before following this up with 105-58 rout over Region 8./PN
