WV taekwondo bets bag 5 bronzes in Jordan tilt

MANILA – Western Visayas taekwondo jins harvested five bronze medals in the 5th Asian Juniors and 3rd Asian Cadet Poomsae Championships at the Princess Hamza Hall in Amman, Jordan.

Bacolod City’s JamieHannah Agaloos bagged two bronzes in the individual cadet female category and in team cadet female category with Aesha Oglayon and Maria Nicole Anne Labayne.

“It’s a dream come true for me to win a medal in the Asian competition. My hardwork paid off,” said Agaloos who is from the Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen stable.

This is not the first time for the Tangum Christian Academy standout to win medals in international competitions. She bagged two bronze medals in the 2018 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Taiwan.

Locally, Agaloos won gold medals in the poomsae tournament of the 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City as well as in the 2019 National Poomsae Championships in Pasay City.

Ilongga Cindy Joy Diasnes of A. Diasnes Taekwondo Gym also delivered two bronze medals for the delegation in Team Juniors Female with Alyssa Lou Llenes and Laeia Simoune Soria, and in Juniors Team Freestyle with Llenes, Kobe Macario, James Oranza, and Johann Abelard Concepcion. 

Agaloos’ stablemate Leigh Andee Rodriguez also clinched a bronze medal in the cadet female bantamweight category./PN
