ILOILO City – The West Visayas State University (WVSU) in this city conferred the Doctor of Laws honoris causa to First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos during the WVSU College of Law Commencement Exercises on Saturday, June 8 at the university auditorium.
Marcos expressed her gratitude for the prestigious honoris causa.
“I am deeply humbled to receive this award. Needless to say, I shall try my best to live up to your expectations today and in years to come,” she said.
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) chairman Dr. Prospero “Popoy” De Vera, WVSU president Dr. Joselito Villaruz and WVSU College of Law dean Atty. Pauline Grace Alfuente led the conferment rites.
Marcos, a part-time professor of public international law at WVSU, also congratulated the graduates of the university’s pioneer class under the Juris Doctor program of the College of Law./PN
