Zero COVID cases in 36 city brgys so far in Oct.

ILOILO City – Thirty-six of the 180 villages in this southern metropolis have zero active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for the past 18 days.

This streak was based on the Oct. 1 to 18 data of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) of the City Health Office.

These barangays in the city’s seven districts were the following:

* City Proper – Arroyo, Flores, General Hughes, Gloria, Hipodromo, Inday, Jalandoni Wilson, Kahirupan, Kauswagan, Legaspi Dela Rama, Liberation, Ma. Clara, Malipayon-Delgado, Osmeña, Rizal Estanzuela, Roxas Village, San Agustin, San Felix, San Jose, Tanza Baybay, and Tanza Bonifacio

* La Paz district – Bantud, Hinactacan, Laguda, and Magdalo

* Lapuz – Rizal Lapuz Sur

* Jaro – Calubihan, El 98, San Jose, and Seminario

* Mandurriao – Hibao-an Norte and NHA 2

* Molo district – North Avanceña, Tap-oc, San Pedro, and West Habog-habog

Meanwhile, CESU tagged 11 barangays as “critical” for having COVID-19 cases almost daily from Oct. 11 to 18.

These barangays were Tabuc Suba, Jaro with 14 cases for the said period; East Timawa, Molo with 11 cases; Bitoon, Jaro with 12 cases; Calumpang, Molo with 10 cases; Simon Ledesma, Jaro with seven cases; Balabago, Jaro with seven cases; Lopez Jaena Sur, La Paz with six cases; Bo. Obrero, Lapuz with 10 cases; Salvacion Habog-habog, Molo with nine cases; San Jose, Arevalo with seven cases; and Mansaya, Lapuz with six cases.

Yesterday, CESU recorded a 34 additional COVID-19 cases from 26 barangays in the city./PN
