BACOLOD City – Next year, additional floating assets will arrive at the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) station in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

PCG Dumaguete station commander Lieutenant Junior Grade Donna Liza Ramacho said these floating assets will bring with them additional weapons and personnel.

Ramacho said they are expecting aluminum speedboats, jet skis and fast boats similar tonthose being used by the Philippine Navy.

The PCG recently formed its Southern Visayas District station to reach out to the countryside by delivering services like marine environmental protection, maritime security and enforcement of maritime laws.

Ramacho said the formation of the additional coast guard district is “a room for so many opportunities for them to render service more effectively and efficiently.”

The PCG Southern Visayas District station is headed by Captain Artemio Manalo Abu, who visited the PCG Dumaguete station last week. (PNA/PN)
