
BACOLOD City – A woman was shot to death while two others were wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Pandan, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
The 43-year-old Ana Oñas sustained a gunshot wound on the abdomen and right leg. She was rushed to Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental but was pronounced “dead on arrival.”
Georgelyn Oñas, 51, and Jesselino Duaban, 55, meanwhile, were recuperating at the hospital for gunshots wounds.
According to police investigators, the incident happened around 8 p.m. on Jan. 21.
The victims were on their way home when attacked.
The suspect was Pedro Oñas, 41, also a resident of the village.
It was still unclear as of this writing what was the motive in the incident.
Recovered from the crime scene were several spent bullets of a .45-caliber gun.
Officers of the Pontevedra municipal police station launched a manhunt operation against the suspect, who fled after the incident./PN
