ILOILO City – In Barangay San Francisco, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, 10 men face charge for violation of a municipal fishing ordinance.
The suspects were:
* Marlon Andrade, Phillip Salvador, Bonnie Salvador, and Jay R Andrade (residents of Barangay Madanlog, San Dionisio, Iloilo);
* Rodel Bongayo, Rodgen Felisiano and Manuel Salvador (residents of Barangay Barancalan, Carles, Iloilo); and
* Rod Barrios, Rommel Barrios and Ramon Barrios (residents of Barangay Lawis, Balasan, Iloilo).
They were caught by the police and members of the Bantay Dagat around 6:30 a.m. yesterday.
Authorities chanced upon them fishing in the sea waters of Barotac Viejo onboard three separate fishing boats.
The suspects were taken to the municipal police station./PN
