ANTIQUE – Around 1,300 indigent and in-crisis Filipino students from this province will receive cash assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) this Saturday.
According to Atty. May Rago-Castillo, DSWD information officer for Western Visayas, the three payout venues to accommodate recipients composed of elementary, high school, senior high school, and college students are the following:
* Payout venue 1 – Poblacion 1 Covered Gym in Hamtic, catering 525 recipients from the municipalities of Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, and Hamtic;
* Payout venue 2 – Provincial Engineering Office gym in San Jose, catering 463 recipients from the municipalities of San Jose, Sibalom, San Remigio, and Belison; and
* Payout venue 3 – Municipal covered gym of Bugasong, catering 321 recipients from the municipalities of Patnongon, Valderrama, Bugasong, Laua-an, Barbaza, Tibiao, Culasi, and Sebaste.
In the island town of Caluya, Castillo said they have yet to set a schedule of payout. DSWD is planning to go to the island to cater the recipients.
Castillo said individuals who have no confirmation text or email from DSWD should not go to the payout venues.
“No walk-ins policy gihapon para sa assessment and payout sang educational assistance. Indi magkadto sa venue kon wala makabaton sang text or email. Ang makadto lang makabaton sang mensahe halin sa DSWD nga ipaagi sa text ukon email,” she emphasized.
Castillo added that if they received a text or an email, they should go to the assigned venue per municipality at 7 a.m., bring a black ballpen, alcohol, face mask, water, and food, and practice social distancing.
Meanwhile, those who want to avail themselves of the educational assistance they should send their application and requirements online through these methods:

2. Register by scanning the DSWD QR Code and fill out the form provided online; or
3. Send through this email address: dswd.educassistance@gmail.com.
Qualified beneficiaries enrolled in elementary grades receive P1,000; P2,000 for secondary; P3,000 for senior high school; and P4,000 for college/vocational course.
The cash assistance, limited to three children per family, is for students in crisis situations enrolled this school year. They could be:
* their family’s breadwinners
* working students
* children of unemployed parents, solo parents, overseas Filipino workers in distress or those with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV);
* orphaned, abandoned or staying with their relative
* abused or displaced children
* victims of human-induced or natural calamities
DSWD has set the distribution of educational cash assistance on the following dates: Aug. 20 and 27 and Sept. 3, 10, 17, and 24./PN
