BACOLOD City — A 14-year-old boy was killed while another 14-year-old was injured after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into a concrete post in Ilog, Negros Occidental, on September 13.
The accident occurred at around 11:10 a.m. in Sitio Lapak, Barangay 2, according to the Ilog Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Police said the motorcycle, which had no license plate, was being driven by the 14-year-old student, a resident of Barangay 2.
His back rider, also 14, was a student and resident of Barangay Andulauan, Ilog.
Initial investigation showed that the motorcycle was traveling from Ilog toward Kabankalan City when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
The motorcycle reportedly skidded and crashed into a concrete post.
The two minors were transported by the Ilog Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital for medical treatment.
However, the driver was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. His back rider sustained minor injuries.
The motorcycle was placed under the custody of the Ilog MPS for proper disposition./PN
