ROXAS City – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 6 provided family food packs to 1,500 farmers in this city affected by the El Niño phenomenon on July 11.
According to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, the registered farmers were from 15 barangays: Bolo, Bato, Milibili, Dinginan, Adlawan, San Jose, Jumaguicjic, Liong Cabugao, Bago, Lanot, Balijuagan, Lonoy, Loctugan, and Sibaguan.
The city mayor, who personally requested the DSWD-6 for the assistance to the city farmers, expressed his gratitude to the agency.
“Bangud sa El Niño madamo sang ulumhan kag pananum ang nahalitan. Pirde gid ang pangabuy-anan sang mangunguma naton. Kinahanglan nila ang bulig. Nagapasalamat kita sa DSWD sa pagsabat sa hingyo,” Dadivas said./PN
