ILOILO – A 16-year-old lad was found dead Thursday at a corn field in Barangay Alabidhan, Bingawan, Iloilo.
Ian Adorable, a resident of the village, was discovered by residents around 6:55 a.m.
Police noted that he had three stab wounds at the back, two stab wounds on the chest, while his neck was slashed.
Two suspects have been identified: a 17-year-old from Alabidhan and his cousin from the province of Aklan. Police refused to divulge their names as manhunt operation was ongoing.
Police Lieutenant Martin Pogales, chief of the Bingawan police station, said their investigators are now looking into retribution as motive in the fatal killing.
Adorable was accused of raping Ann (not her real name), the 15-year-old sister of the 17-year-old suspect.
Ann claimed the incident happened on the evening of May 9 this year. She said she was homebound when Adorable suddenly grabbed her hair, dragged her to a forested area and sexually abused her.
“The rape victim did not reveal the incident to her parents because she was afraid of getting a scolding,” Pogales told Panay News. “She only disclosed it this month.”
According to Pogales, the victim’s family and Adorable were called for by their barangay captain.
However, Pogales said the family did not file a report at the police station regarding the case.
Meanwhile, Adorable was last seen alive around 7 p.m. on Wednesday having a drinking binge.
No bladed weapon was recovered from the crime scene, only a pair of red slippers.
Pogales said they are in-talks with the minor suspect’s parents that could lead to his surrender./PN
