MIAG-AO, Iloilo – Eighteen runners conquered the tough terrain and stood out from among more than 300 participants on Sunday in the first Iloilo Salomon X-Trail Run: The Path of Most Resistance.
Nine men and nine women dominated the 24k, 14k and 8k categories in the run event at the University of the Philippines Visayas’ (UPV) Miag-ao campus.
John Ray Onifa clocked in 2 hours, 27 minutes and 25 seconds to top the 24k men. Edmer Orcena (3:05:15) and Jay Mirasol (3:06:11) trailed behind for second and third places, respectively.
On the distaff side of 24k, Agustora Lin Sabanal took the lead (3:28:24), followed by Roma Gonzales (3:46.46) and Sharon Torres (3:52.15), in second and third places, respectively.
Winners in the other categories were as follows:
* 8k men – Icey Molavin, first place (34 minutes, 36 seconds); John Caleb Barlin, second place (36:38); Dleifhcir Molavin, third place (41:59)
* 8k women – Ma. Luz Sophia Dellosa, first (51 minutes, 50 seconds); Vanessa Perlas, second (1 hour, 1 minute, 58 seconds); Jhelyn Miatapal, third (1:02:27)
* 14k men – Michael Benedicto, first (2:27:48); Deegee Gavile, second (2:29:43); Hyarmel Harder, third (2:30:15)
* 14k women – Lauren Ryan, first (3:08.40); Eden Mae Fuentes, second (3:24.59); Kristine Sta. Rita, third (4:04.20)
