ILOILO City – Two barangay councilmen and another man in Barangay Tig-amaga, Miag-ao, Iloilo face an illegal logging charge.  They were arrested yesterday.

The police identified the councilmen as Felipe Natonton, 52, and Rodolfo Montenes, 59.

The other suspect was Nestor Paler, also a resident of Barangay Tig-amaga.

The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources (MENRO) along with the police caught the three suspects cutting trees without permit, police said.

Logs and a chainsaw were recovered in the area./PN
