KALIBO, Aklan – Police are hunting down robbery suspects who escaped custody yesterday.
Nino dela Rosa, 20, and Randy Fulgencio, 18, both residents of Purok 3, C. Laserna, Barangay Poblacion, were arrested for breaking into the house of Senior Police Officer 4 Luzbella Isada in Barangay Estancia.
After the arrest, police took the suspects to the Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital for a routine medical examination.
Shortly after leaving the provincial hospital’s Emergency Room around 2:30 a.m., the suspects — still on handcuffs — escaped.
A search led the police officers to public cemeteries, but they were unable to find the suspects.
Hours after, officers found a handcuff near a store on Toting Reyes Street.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects is urged to report to the Kalibo police station through 2682166 or 09399167066. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
