2 Lapuz residents attacked in La Paz

ILOILO City – Two men were hospitalized after they were attacked in Barangay Laguda, La Paz district on Christmas Eve.

Three men and a woman struck them with a Red Horse beer bottle, Andrew Longno, 36, and cousin Julius, 34, told the police.

They were walking home to Barangay Progreso, Lapuz when attacked at around 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, a police report showed.

Andrew was wounded on the head while Julius sustained wounds on the left ear and left leg, and an abrasion on the left arm, police said.

They were taken to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro.

A police hot pursuit resulted in the arrest of one of the alleged attackers – the 30-year-old Jonard Galvez of Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz.

Officers were still trying to find the other suspects as of this writing./PN
