ILOILO City – Two persons – one a minor – were tagged as suspects in the killing of a youngster on Tuesday in Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton, Iloilo. They were arrested.
One was 20-year-old Jericho Juadiong. The minor suspect was a friend. Both were residents of Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, too, like victim Raymundo Flores III, 15.
The suspects were collared yesterday at around 6 a.m. in their respective houses.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Ma. Elena Dolinguez, Oton police investigator, the two were tagged by two witnesses who were also their friends.
Monday night, Nov. 1, the victim, the two suspects and several other friends had a drinking binge.
Later, the suspects and Flores left the group.
“Juadiong’s friends had no idea that he was planning to kill the victim,” Dolinguez said.
It was too late when they discovered it and attempted to stop him, she added.
The minor suspect admitted to the police that he was in the area but tagged Juadiong as the one who stabbed Flores.
Dolinguez said the victim and Juadiong had a heated argument last month over an errand to buy something worth P550; Flores instead went home.
“Naakig si Juadiong kay wala ang victim nagbakal kag ginkuha nya lang kuno ang kwarta,” Dolinguez said.
A complaint for murder would be filed against the suspects today.
Juadiong was detained at the Oton police station while the minor suspect was turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
The two minor witnesses are in the protective custody of the police./PN
