2 WV athletes bag Batang Pinoy golds

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan – Bacolod City’s Krisha Dedoyco Aguillon emerged as the fastest girl runner at the start of the Batang Pinoy National Finals 2019 yesterday at the Speaker Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex here.

Aguillon, a standout of Bacolod Tay Tung High School, captured the gold medal in the girls 100-meter dash event to duplicate the feat of her elder sister Antonette Jay last year.

“I was not expecting it because malalakas din ang kalaban ko,” Krisha said. “I am thankful to win this event. The hard work and practice have paid off. I will do my best to win my other events, too.”

After the centennial dash, the 13-year-old Krisha will try to win golds in the 200-meter dash this morning, the 4×100-meter relay and 4×400-meter mixed relay.

Meanwhile, New Washington, Aklan’s Marc Angelo Daroy bagged the gold medal in the men’s 100-meter dash.

In boys basketball at the Palawan State University Gym, Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts defeated Makati, 79-75, with Nathan Jundana spearheading the offense with 15 points.

Heinz Gabriel Demisana and Dylan Despi had 12 points each while Thomas Pillado and Marvin delos Santos finished with 11 each.

In girls volleyball at the Palawan State University  Laboratory Elementary School, St. John’s Institute-Negros Occidental defeated Davao, while Iloilo bowed to Davao del Norte./PN
