ILOILO City – The 2017 World President of Junior Chamber International (JCI), a non-profit international non-governmental organization, visited this city on Saturday.
Dawn Hetzel from Washington D.C., USA holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Juris doctorate degree. She has worked as a lobbyist for the State of Indiana.
Hetzel joined JCI Indianapolis in 2002. She became the local president in 2005, state president in 2008 and national vice president in 2012.
At the international level, Hetzel served as JCI General Legal Counsel in 2013, Executive Vice President assigned to the Americas in 2014 and Chief Executive Assistant to the President in 2015. She had attended 11 JCI area conferences and six JCI world congresses.
Francis Serona, JCI area vice president for Visayas, told Panay News Hetzel was in the city to expand her knowledge, share what she already accomplished and bare future projects.
In a press conference, Hetzel said she wanted to see local JCI projects, how members were doing and how their association can further help communities and schools.
“We have given hygiene kits to children of schools that the local chapter has adopted,” Hetzel said.
According to Hetzel, they have a lot of projects lined up in the Philippines.
There are around 6,000 JCI members in the country./PN
