BACOLOD CITY – Twenty-six stalls at the Manokan Country are at risk of getting ejected for nonpayment of arrears.
The Commission on Audit has released to the city government the names of stallholders with outstanding arrears amounting to P6.8 million, City Administrator John Orola said.
“These arrears must be paid,” Orola said.
The stallholders have been informed about their delinquencies. They were set to meet with the city government, he said.
They must pay their arrears before the MassKara Festival in October.
The spaces of those who will get ejected will be bid out to others interested in setting up a business at the Manokan Country, Orola said.
When Monico Puentevella was mayor, SM Prime Holdings, Inc. proposed to buy a 13,783-square-meter property – where the Manokan Country is also located – for P282 million.
The Manokan Country is just across SM City Bacolod./PN
