BACOLOD City – Three people including a minor were arrested for their alleged involvement in illegal cockfighting.
Edgar Villanueva, 51, and Algen Moya, 38, and a 14-year-old boy were caught holding the gambling activity in Barangay Madalag Proper, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Villanueva and Moya lived in that village while the teenager was a resident of this city, police said.
Acting on a tip, operatives from the EB Magalona police station and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Mobile Force Company arrested the three on Saturday.
Six fighting cocks with gaffs and P500 bet money were seized from the three.
Villanueva and Moya were detained at the EB Magalona police station while the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office took the teenager in custody./PN
