3 Bacolod police station commanders relieved

BACOLOD City – Three police station commanders in this city were relieved from their posts effective Saturday, January 11, a day before the start of the election period.

The relief orders of Captain Portia Nillosan of Police Station 5 (PS5), Captain Lanie Deriada of PS9 and Captain Sherwin Galupar of PS10 were issued by Colonel Joeresty Coronica, director of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

Captain Ma. Liberty Indiape, spokesperson for the BCPO, said Nillosan, Deriada and Galupar were reassigned to BCPO’s Human Rights Affairs Office, City Plans and Programs Unit and Logistics Office, respectively.

Meawhile, Major Marc Joeil Reclamado is now the new chief of PS5, Captain Andy Ofalia for PS9 and Glen Montaño for PS10.

“The relief and transfer are normal and part of the police commission officers’ functions,” said Indiape.

She added that Coronica directed the newly installed station commanders to strengthen crime prevention measures and law enforcement operations in their respective areas.

Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police is imposing a nationwide gun ban beginning January 12, the start of the election period for this May 12 midterm polls./PN
