ILOILO City – A 60-year-old man from Carles, Iloilo had been charged with three counts of rape.
Ernesto Jimena was arrested in his residence in Barangay Bancal, a police report showed.
Officers served him with a warrant of arrest at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
He was taken to the Carles police station afterward.
Jimena was accused of sexually assaulting a minor last year.
Specifically he was charged with three counts of rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The court recommended no bail for his temporary liberty./PN
