BACOLOD City – Three persons were caught engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay 9, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
They were residents Irene Azuello, 29; Rex Alegre, 50; and Joesel Dalmacio, 52, a police said.
Dalmacio, Alegre and Azuello were nabbed after police chanced upon them playing tong-its around 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 20.
Recovered from their possession were P265 bet money and a deck of playing cards.
The suspects were detained in the custodial facility of the Victorias City police station, facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
