ILOILO City — Three people were stabbed in Barangay Omambong, Leon, Iloilo, a police report showed.
Police arrested the suspect — the 44-year-old Ricky Samontanes of the same village.
It was not immediately clear what the suspect’s motive was.
The victims were all residents of the barangay — Jill Rufin, 33, Ria Mae Caballero, 24, and Jumy Caballero, 35.
Rufin sustained stab wounds on various parts of her body, the police report stated.
Ria Mae was wounded on the right arm while Jumy was stabbed on the back of the head, the report stated further.
Samontanes used a triangular file, locally called bal-ag, as weapon, police said.
All victims were ferried to the Aleosan District Hospital in Alimodian town via the municipal ambulance of Leon.
Police said the stabbing happened at around 8:05 p.m. on March 21.
Samontanes was arrested at about 8:50 p.m. The Leon police took him in custody./PN
