ILOILO City — Thirteen years after he became wanted for a rape charge, a 36-year-old man was finally arrested in Barangay Dolores, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, a police report showed.
Jerry Sta. Ana was a resident of Barangay Punong Grande, DueƱas, Iloilo and temporarily staying in Guimaras.
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at around 12:10 p.m. on March 21.
Specifically Sta. Ana was charged with ārape in relation to RA (Republic Act) 7610,ā or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, the police report stated.
Judge Cecilia Aronee Celiz-HofileƱa of the 7th Municipal Circuit Trial Court in Dingle, Iloilo issued the warrant on May 23, 2005 yet.
The judge recommended no bail bond for the suspectās temporary liberty.
The Nueva Valencia police took the suspect in custody./PN
