ILOILO City – Two people died while another was injured in a three-vehicle smashup in Barangay Balabago, Jaro district.
Police identified the casualties as Benmar Evuacado, 24, of La Paz district and Richard Medrocillo, 19, of Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
The survivor – 22-year-old Alfie Angelo Desamparado of La Paz – sustained injuries on the different parts of the body.
A 10-wheeler truck driven by Napoleon Alim Jr., 46, of Jaro accidentally crashed against a motorcycle where Medrocillo was on board at around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, a police report showed.
As a result, the motorcycle crashed against the car where Desamparado and Evuacado were riding, police said.
Evuacado and Medrocillo died of head and body injuries while Desamparado was confined at the West Visayas State University Medical Center.
Alim was detained at the Jaro police station./PN
