BACOLOD City – Three men were now under the custody of the Cauayan municipal police station for their alleged involvement in a stabbing incident in a wake.
They were the 27-year-old Michael Deniega, 23-year-old Jomarie Deniega and 31-year-old Jolito Sanchez.
They were caught after a rumble in Barangay Bulata, Cauayan, Negros Occidental around 2 a.m. on Friday, a police report showed.
The 30-year-old Eddie Sanghu was playing the card game pusoy with the suspects when an altercation ensued, police said.
Michael then attacked Sanghu using a bladed weapon, added the police. The rumble followed.
Sanghu sustained stab wounds on the arm. He was confined at the Mercedita Montilla District Hospital in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
Village watchmen arrested the Deniegas and Sanchez. They were turned over to the police after./PN
