ILOILO City – A total of 360 new police recruits officially joined the ranks of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after taking their oath of office during a ceremony held on December 11 at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) grandstand in Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 regional director, administered the oath of office and emphasized the significance of integrity and dedication in their new roles.
“This is not just the fulfilment of a dream but the beginning of a transformative journey. As you take your oath, remember the responsibilities that come with it. Be teachable, grounded, and start right. These principles will guide you in becoming effective and honorable police officers,” said Wanky.
The 360 recruits, composed of 288 policemen and 72 policewomen, were selected through a rigorous process conducted by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Board.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, PRO-6 public information officer, the recruitment process began in October 2024, with around 2,600 applicants from across Western Visayas vying for the limited slots./PN
