ILOILO City – As of Dec. 29, four dealers here are allowed to sell firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has lifted the work stoppage order against the following:
* Iloilo Society Commercial – Aldeguer Street branch
* Pick Up Shop Merchandising
* One Fireworks
* Custodio Fireworks
The agency also lifted the stoppage order against 183 retailers here.
Other dealers and retailers are still processing their requirements, said Superintendent Jerry Candido, city fire marshal.
Other registered dealers here are Sintak Marketing, Tagbac Pioneer and Scorpions Marketing.
The DOLE issued a work stoppage order against firecracker and pyrotechnic manufacture and sale to ensure compliance with labor, occupational safety and health standards among makers and vendors.
But the order may be lifted once manufacturers, dealers and retailers comply with the following requirements:
* fire safety certificate from the Bureau of Fire Protection
* compliance certificate from the Philippine National Police
* certificate on the DOLE seminar
* special permit to sell from the local government unit
“No one is allowed to manufacture or sell firecrackers and pyrotechnics — even if they have complied with all the requirements — until the DOLE lifts the order against them,” said Candido./PN
