46 houses, 52 families in Jordan on 5-day lockdown

JORDAN, Guimaras – Beginning today, 46 houses in Sitio Lagbas, Barangay Hoskyn will be on lockdown.

“As of May 30, there were a total of nine active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Sitio Lagbas,” according to Mayor Ruben Corpuz yesterday.

His Executive Order No. 44 set the lockdown to be until June 4.

“A thorough contact tracing will be implemented and all direct contacts shall be swabbed and undergo home quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19,” stressed Corpuz.

The lockdown of 46 houses cover 52 families.

Corpuz ordered the following measures:

* barriers/checkpoints in the boundaries of Sitio Lagbas, Barangay Hoskyn to ensure there shall be no inbound or outbound movement

* constant and maximum police visibility in the sitio be

* residents shall remain in their respective households and shall not visit other households

* all direct contacts shall undergo strict home quarantine for 14 days.

* a coordinator shall be assigned to coordinate with the punong barangay for the provision of basic needs emergency concerns; direct hotlines from the Office of the Mayor will be made available for immediate coordination

As of Saturday, May 29, Jordan had 32 active COVID-19 cases. The death toll was five.

The active cases were in barangays San Miguel (10), Bugnay (two), Sta. Teresa (four), Hoskyn (nine),  Morobuan (one), Poblacion (five), and Sinapsapan (one)./PN
