ILOILO City – Five people, including two children, were injured after a Ceres bus accidentally hit the motorcycle they were riding in Barangay Natividad, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
Motorcycle driver Simplico Villaris, 51; Josephine Villaris, 45; Ryan Villaris, 4; and Joemar Villaris, 4, were taken to a district hospital in the town.
Princess Nicole Asong, 14, was brought to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district.
From Estancia, Iloilo, both vehicles were heading to the city around 1:25 p.m. Thursday when the motorcycle suddenly turned right, said Chief Inspector Elmer Magbanua of the municipal police station.
According to Magbanua, the motorcycle had no signal light and thus failed to prompt the bus.
Bus driver Richard Siason, 33, of Barangay Tabuc Suba, Barotac Viejo, will shoulder the victims’ medical expenses and the damage, said Magbanua./PN
