BACOLOD City – About 5,000 delegates from all electric cooperatives across the country will attend the 38th Philippine Rural Electric Cooperative Association (Philreca) conference at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod.

The two-day conference will be on Aug. 30 to 31 which will be hosted by the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco).

“We expect delegates from 121 electric cooperatives from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” said Ceneco president Roy Cordova.

Election of the Philreca officers will be done in the event, Cordova added.

National Electrification Administrator Edgardo Masongsong, Department of Energy secretary Alfonso Cusi, Senate committee on energy chairman Sherwin Gatchalian, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Mark Villar will be the guest speakers in the conference.
